Job summary

This role focuses on managing and optimizing a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) to support scientific research and data integrity. The LIMS Administrator will work closely with researchers to enhance data workflows and ensure compliance with standards.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in administering and configuring a major LIMS platform, such as Benchling.
  • Experience in an academic, clinical, or research institute environment.
  • Strong communication skills to bridge technical and scientific needs.
  • Analytical skills for optimizing workflows and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the strategic owner of the LIMS platform, gathering requirements and managing the feature roadmap.
  • Establish and enforce standards for data entry, sample tracking, and metadata.
  • Develop training materials and conduct workshops for users.
  • Provide daily user support and manage system updates and troubleshooting.
  • Monitor system performance and identify opportunities for improvement.

Skills

  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies as a Product Owner or Manager.
  • Familiarity with data privacy regulations relevant to scientific data.
  • Basic scripting or query skills (e.g., SQL, Python) for data extraction.

Education

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field.

Tools

  • Major LIMS platform (e.g., Benchling).
