Job summary

An experienced Lifting & Rigging Subject Matter Expert is needed to support a significant construction project, ensuring safe and compliant lifting operations. The expert will provide technical guidance to project teams and contractors, focusing on planning, reviewing, and executing lifting activities.

Qualifications

• Relevant technical, engineering, crane, rigging, or construction background.
• Extensive documented experience with lifting and rigging operations on large construction or industrial projects.
• Previous roles as a lifting specialist, appointed person, lifting manager, lift planner, or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of cranes, rigging equipment, and safe lifting practices.
• Experience in developing and reviewing lift plans, risk assessments, and method statements.
• Technical ability to review load information, crane configurations, and rigging arrangements.
• Understanding of HSE requirements related to lifting operations.
• Professional working proficiency in English.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the subject matter expert for lifting, rigging, and crane activities.
• Develop and maintain project procedures for lifting operations.
• Review lift plans, risk assessments, and technical documentation.
• Assess various lifting operations and verify load information.
• Ensure compliance with equipment certification and operator competence.
• Conduct site inspections and audits of lifting activities.
• Support contractor evaluations and participate in planning meetings.
• Maintain records and report lifting-related risks to project management.
