Legal Counsel (Nordics, Madrid)

Job summary

This role involves providing legal support for operations in the Nordic region, reporting to the Lead Counsel. The position requires proactive engagement in corporate and operational legal matters, drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, and ensuring compliance with local laws.

Qualifications

• Qualified European lawyer with 4+ years of post-qualification experience in one or more Nordic jurisdictions.
• Experience in top-tier law firms or in-house roles at large multinational companies.
• Fluent in English and either French or German; additional languages are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Adapt legal strategies to meet regional business needs in the Nordics.
• Collaborate with internal and external subject matter experts for corporate, commercial, compliance, and litigation support.
• Stay informed on legislative developments in the region.
• Manage complex legal matters with internal stakeholders and external advisors.
• Draft and negotiate commercial contracts and terms across multiple jurisdictions.
• Contribute to the creation and revision of legal templates and guides.
• Prioritize work based on company strategy and objectives.
• Support the growth and development of team members.

Skills

• Strong technical legal skills and strategic business insight.
• Effective communication with emotional intelligence.

Education

• Barred / practicing lawyer in a European jurisdiction.

Tools

• Familiarity with legal management tools and contract negotiation platforms.
