About the role

Job summary

The role involves overseeing data protection compliance within a Nordic challenger bank, focusing on GDPR and related regulations. The Legal Counsel will work closely with the Denmark Legal team to ensure the organization meets its regulatory obligations while supporting business operations.

Qualifications

  • Strong expertise in GDPR and understanding of regulatory frameworks for licensed financial institutions.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a law firm, financial institution, or public authority, capable of managing complex data protection issues independently.
  • Law degree (LL.M. or equivalent) with the ability to provide business-oriented legal recommendations.
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment with a focus on quick decision-making.
  • Familiarity with banking, fintech, or legal aspects of AI and data usage is advantageous but not mandatory.

  • Handle data subject rights requests and provide clear guidance on data protection matters to stakeholders.
  • Manage the lifecycle of data processing agreements, ensuring compliance with obligations.
