About the role

Job summary

This role involves overseeing maintenance activities for heavy diesel machinery in a mining environment, ensuring safety and efficiency in operations.

Qualifications

  • Current “C” Class Manual driver’s licence from Western Australia.
  • Relevant trade qualifications and licenses.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a Leading Hand position, specifically with Heavy Underground Machinery and Drills.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily maintenance activities, both planned and unplanned.
  • Supervise tradespersons and mobile maintenance tasks.
  • Provide feedback to Maintenance Supervisors on job details and timeframes.
  • Identify and mitigate workplace hazards.
  • Mentor team members to foster a safe working environment.

Skills

  • Proficient in diagnostics and troubleshooting of diesel, electric, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Experience with air conditioning maintenance (desirable).
  • Familiarity with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) like Pronto (desirable).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive, team-oriented attitude.

Education

  • Valid trade qualifications in relevant fields.

Tools

  • Experience with heavy machinery including CAT AD63, SANDVIK TH663i, Volvo L120F IT, and various drilling equipment.
