Lead Engineer

Job summary

The Lead Engineer will drive the technical direction of a marketplace platform modernization, transitioning from legacy technologies to a modern cloud-native architecture. This role combines hands-on engineering leadership with strategic oversight to enhance platform capabilities while ensuring ongoing feature delivery.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in delivering production systems using modern C# and .NET technologies in a leadership or architecture capacity.
• Expertise in designing AWS-based solutions utilizing services like ECS, EKS, Lambda, and RDS.
• Experience in building scalable architectures with service-oriented and event-driven patterns.
• Strong background in leading engineering teams through architectural decisions and quality practices.
• Ability to manage technical strategy in collaboration with product and business stakeholders.
• Experience directing legacy-to-modern migration initiatives with measurable outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute a technical vision and roadmap for the platform's modernization.
• Guide the transition from legacy technologies to a modern C#, React, and AWS ecosystem.
• Establish architectural standards for APIs, data platforms, and quality controls.
• Mentor and strengthen engineering capabilities through technical leadership.
• Deliver improvements in reliability, deployment efficiency, and cloud adoption.
• Build partnerships with product and cross-functional teams to align technical strategy with business goals.

Skills

• Familiarity with event-driven architectures and message queuing solutions.
• Knowledge of continuous delivery, Infrastructure as Code, and DevOps practices.
• Understanding of accessibility standards and digital compliance requirements.

Education

• Relevant degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.

Tools

• Proficiency in C#, .NET, AWS services, and modern web technologies such as React.
