Job summary

This role involves gaining practical experience in a research environment focused on oils, fats, and sustainability. As a Laboratory Technician Trainee, you will work alongside experienced scientists and technicians, contributing to research and development projects that address industrial challenges.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in or eligible for a Laboratory Technician Traineeship program.
• Strong interest in laboratory work, chemistry, biotechnology, or analytical science.
• Good attention to detail and structured documentation skills.
• Basic IT skills and eagerness to learn digital tools for laboratory and data analysis.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Engage in laboratory-based research and development activities.
• Conduct experiments and analyses under supervision.
• Operate and interpret results from analytical techniques such as HPLC, GC, NMR, titration, and NIR spectroscopy.
• Analyze experimental data using Excel and SAS JMP.
• Document laboratory work accurately using Benchling.
• Collaborate with team members on project activities.

Skills

• Interest in industrial biotechnology and sustainability applications.
• Familiarity with analytical laboratory equipment.
• Experience with Excel for data handling.
• Enthusiasm for scientific problem solving and continuous learning.

Education

• Completion of the theoretical part of Laboratory Technician education is required.

Tools
