Job summary

The role involves leading and expanding the Design Technology team in Copenhagen, focusing on integrating BIM, computational design, AI, sustainability, and visualization into a cohesive practice. This position requires a hands-on leader who actively participates in the development of tools and solutions while driving the local design technology strategy in alignment with global objectives.

Qualifications

  • Over 10 years of experience in design technology or computational design, with a proven track record in leadership and mentorship.
  • Strong proficiency in Rhino, Grasshopper, and scripting languages such as Python and/or C#.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and structured development practices.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, APIs, and web-based tool development.
  • Solid understanding of Revit and BIM workflows, including tools like Rhino.Inside.Revit and Dynamo.
  • Hands-on experience with AI tools in a design or AEC context.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills, capable of influencing various stakeholders.
  • Background in architecture or a related design discipline.
  • Proficient in English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and grow the Design Technology team, managing day-to-day operations and setting strategic direction.
  • Define and implement the local design technology roadmap in line with global strategies.
  • Promote the adoption of AI tools and workflows within the studio.
  • Enhance AI and visualization capabilities, building necessary talent and resources.
  • Develop and review custom tools and scripts for design processes.
  • Collaborate with the BIM Manager to establish standards and ensure interoperability.
  • Embed new methods and workflows into projects, providing technical support as needed.
  • Work with the global team to align workflows and share resources.
  • Oversee the Model Shop and Sustainability teams, with potential for growth in these areas.
  • Manage project prioritization and resource allocation.

Skills

  • Strong technical and leadership skills in design technology.
  • Proficiency in computational design and parametric modeling.
  • Experience with machine learning frameworks and real-time visualization tools is a plus.

Education

  • A degree in architecture or a related design field is preferred.

Tools

  • Proficient in Rhino, Grasshopper, Revit, and relevant scripting languages.
