Head of Compliance

Job summary

This role is the most senior compliance leadership position, responsible for the global compliance posture of the organization. The Head of Compliance will shape the compliance philosophy, manage significant regulatory relationships, and ensure compliance functions proactively rather than reactively. The position involves leading an international team of compliance specialists across multiple countries and reporting to the General Counsel.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in compliance within the technology or financial services sector.
• Deep knowledge of regulatory frameworks including EU AI Act, GDPR, and data protection laws.
• Proven ability to navigate complex regulatory environments with sound judgment.
• Experience in leading high-caliber compliance teams and developing strategic compliance initiatives.
• Strong communication skills to articulate compliance risks to executive leadership.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee the global compliance strategy, framework, and governance structure.
• Conduct annual compliance risk assessments and maintain the enterprise risk register.
• Monitor emerging risks related to AI adoption and data regulation.
• Advise leadership on compliance obligations and market entry strategies.
• Lead regulatory horizon scanning and respond to emerging regulatory developments.
• Manage an international compliance team, ensuring effective work allocation and oversight.
• Partner with various business units to provide compliance sign-off on new initiatives.
• Lead investigations into significant compliance incidents and oversee remediation efforts.
• Foster a strong compliance culture and design effective training programs.
