Global Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Advisor

Job summary

An experienced professional is sought to provide technical expertise and capacity development in Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) within humanitarian settings, particularly focusing on migration and displacement. The role is based at the Danish Red Cross headquarters in Copenhagen and involves collaboration with various National Societies and international organizations.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of experience in humanitarian and development organizations.
• Master's degree or equivalent experience in MHPSS, social sciences, or a related field.
• Proven skills in technical advisory roles within MHPSS in emergency contexts.
• Experience in developing technical guidance, tools, and training materials.
• Proficiency in English and French is required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review strategies and policies for MHPSS in migration and emergency settings.
• Provide technical advice and quality assurance to National Societies and Country Office teams.
• Create and adapt technical guidelines, models, and training materials.
• Assess technical capacity needs and implement capacity-strengthening plans.
• Integrate MHPSS across various sectors, including health and disaster response.
• Support the design and implementation of MHPSS assessments and evaluations.
• Contribute to the development of MHPSS project proposals aligned with donor requirements.
• Undertake field missions and emergency deployments as needed.
