Functional Lead - Variable Frequency Drives (Renewable Energy, Aarhus/Porto)

Job summary

This role involves leading the strategic direction for Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) in wind turbine applications, focusing on power electronics and electromechanical systems. The position requires collaboration across various functional areas to ensure the development of high-performance drive systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in power electronics and motor drive systems.
• Hands-on experience with VFD development or integration for industrial applications.
• Proficient in drive control theory and simulation tools like MATLAB/Simulink or PSpice.
• Experience in managing external suppliers and validating technical deliverables.
• Full professional proficiency in English.

Responsibilities

• Develop and drive the VFD strategy and roadmap, ensuring standardization and modularization.
• Provide technical oversight and sign-off for VFD designs.
• Lead development in power electronics, including converters and control algorithms.
• Select and integrate VFD suppliers, managing specifications and testing.
• Collaborate with software, mechanical, quality, and test teams.
• Monitor drive performance in prototypes and installations, implementing improvements.
• Translate system-level requirements into effective drive solutions.
