Job summary

The role involves leading the strategic direction for Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) within wind turbine systems, focusing on power electronics and electromechanical systems. This position requires collaboration across various functional areas to ensure high-performance drive systems are developed and integrated effectively.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in power electronics and motor drive systems
  • Hands-on experience with VFD development or integration for industrial applications
  • Strong understanding of drive control theory and proficiency in simulation tools like MATLAB/Simulink or PSpice
  • Experience working with external suppliers to define technical requirements
  • Full professional proficiency in English for effective communication in a global environment

Responsibilities

  • Lead the VFD strategy and roadmap, focusing on standardization and modularization
  • Provide technical oversight and design approval for VFD systems
  • Drive technical development in power electronics, including converters and control algorithms
  • Select and integrate VFD suppliers, managing specifications and testing
  • Collaborate with software, mechanical, quality, and testing teams
  • Monitor drive performance in prototypes and installations, implementing improvements
  • Translate system-level requirements into effective VFD solutions
