Job summary

This role involves leading the strategic direction for Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) in wind turbines, focusing on power electronics and electromechanical systems. The position requires collaboration across various functional areas to ensure the development of high-performance drive systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in power electronics and motor drive systems
  • Hands-on experience with VFD development or integration for industrial applications
  • Strong understanding of drive control theory and proficiency in simulation tools like MATLAB/Simulink or PSpice
  • Experience working with external suppliers, defining technical requirements, and validating deliverables
  • Full professional proficiency in English

Responsibilities

  • Drive the VFD strategy and roadmap, leading standardization and modularization efforts
  • Provide technical oversight and design approval for VFD and drive system designs
  • Lead development in power electronics and drive control, including converters/inverters and control algorithms
  • Select and integrate VFD suppliers, overseeing specifications and testing
  • Collaborate with software, mechanical, quality, and test teams
  • Monitor drive performance in prototypes and installations, driving improvements
  • Translate system-level requirements into VFD solutions and drive systems engineering
