Frontend Engineer (On-site)

Job summary

This role involves significant ownership and influence over technical direction in a hands-on engineering position focused on building a Point of Sale system for merchants. The platform streamlines various workflows including order management, product cataloging, and payment processing.

Qualifications

• 3-12 years of professional software engineering experience
• Experience in designing and operating distributed systems
• Proven ability to lead technical projects and influence architectural decisions
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Experience in payments, fintech, e-commerce, SaaS, or high-scale transaction systems is a plus

Responsibilities

• Own and implement features in the Merchant Portal
• Collaborate with the UX team to improve and maintain the UI component library
• Engage in architectural improvements within the monorepo workspace
• Lead initiatives involving multiple engineers from discovery to production
• Ensure reliability, observability, performance, and security across the platform
• Contribute to testing and operational excellence while fostering a collaborative team culture

Skills

• Proficiency in TypeScript and React
• Familiarity with Turborepo, React Router, TanStack Query, Vitest, Playwright, React Hook Form, Headless UI, Storybook, i18n, and feature flags (LaunchDarkly)

Education

• Relevant degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred but not explicitly stated.

Tools

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern development tools is beneficial.
