Job summary

The role involves investigating and auditing data to identify fraud patterns and validate existing defenses against fraudulent activities. The specialist will work closely with the Fraud & Investigations team to compile reports and provide actionable intelligence.

Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
  • Comfortable working with datasets and translating findings into actionable reports.
  • Basic knowledge of SQL or eagerness to learn.
  • Ability to manage multiple investigations simultaneously.
  • Clear communication skills to explain findings to technical analysts.
  • Prior experience in Trust & Safety, fraud investigation, or a similar analytical role is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth investigations into areas of fraud to identify missing patterns.
  • Perform audits on fraud detection engines to minimize false positives.
  • Compile detailed reports on fraudulent activities for the team.
  • Identify new fraudulent behaviors and provide insights for rule development.
  • Query databases using SQL to support investigations.
  • Handle escalated cases related to platform misuse and assist with inquiries.
  • Collaborate with senior analysts and managers to bridge data and technical rule writing.

Skills

Education

  • Relevant experience in fraud investigation or analytical roles preferred.
