Job summary

This role involves providing hands-on technical expertise for industrial milling technologies, focusing on installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of grinding systems across various regions. The position requires extensive travel and collaboration with plant teams to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • 6–8 years of experience in field service, maintenance, or commissioning of industrial grinding equipment.
  • Expertise in mill/grinding systems within heavy industrial environments.
  • Proficient in mechanical troubleshooting and repair of rotating machinery.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and equipment manuals.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Technical certifications in industrial maintenance or equipment commissioning are advantageous.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and effective communication in English; proficiency in German, Spanish, or French is preferred.

Responsibilities

Safety & Compliance

  • Conduct technical inspections and assessments prior to equipment installation.
  • Oversee installation, alignment, and assembly of equipment at customer sites.
  • Perform start-up and commissioning of new grinding systems.
  • Conduct performance testing and validation against specifications.
  • Prepare detailed commissioning reports documenting activities and corrective actions.
  • Train customer personnel on operation and emergency procedures.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support training of new personnel.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and share insights with engineering teams.
  • Participate in technical forums and ongoing learning activities.
  • Adhere to safety procedures and local regulations.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures.
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure safe work practices.
  • Report incidents and safety concerns promptly.
  • Comply with environmental regulations and site-specific requirements.

Tools

  • Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems in industrial settings.
