Job summary

The Engineering Team Leader is responsible for guiding a small team of engineers in product development while managing team dynamics and fostering individual growth. This role involves a blend of management and hands-on engineering work, focusing on optimizing workflows and enhancing team performance.

Qualifications

  • Experience managing an engineering team of at least 2 members.
  • Proficient in Frontend (React, JS, ES6, Jest) or Backend (Elixir/Phoenix) technologies.
  • Strong commitment to promoting organizational values and fostering a diverse and inclusive environment.
  • Solid understanding of engineering principles and best practices.
  • Proven ability to design and implement automation workflows.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a product team of 3-5 engineers, dedicating 30% of time to management tasks.
  • Participate actively in product development alongside the team.
  • Oversee hiring and onboarding processes for new engineers.
  • Provide continuous feedback and coaching to team members.
  • Redesign engineering workflows to incorporate autonomous agents.
  • Develop reusable workflows and ensure quality through verification loops.

Skills

  • Strong engineering fundamentals and experience with production systems.
  • Ability to think systematically and define clear specifications.
  • Focus on efficient processes with a people-first approach.
  • Ability to inspire and instill confidence in team members.

Education

  • Relevant degree in Engineering or related field preferred.

Tools
