Engineering Team Leader (Remote, Global)

Job summary

The Engineering Team Leader is responsible for guiding a small team of engineers in product development while fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment. This role involves both management and hands-on participation in engineering tasks, focusing on optimizing workflows and team dynamics.

Qualifications

• Experience managing an engineering team of at least 2 members.
• Strong background in Frontend (React, JS, ES6, Jest) or Backend (Elixir/Phoenix) development.
• Commitment to promoting organizational values and fostering a diverse and inclusive environment.
• Proven track record of delivering secure, reliable, and scalable production systems.
• Familiarity with designing and implementing automation workflows.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to inspire and motivate team members.

Responsibilities

• Manage a product team of 3-5 engineers, dedicating 30% of time to management tasks.
• Participate actively in product development alongside the team.
• Oversee hiring and onboarding processes for new engineers.
• Provide continuous feedback and coaching to team members.
• Redesign engineering workflows to incorporate autonomous agents.
• Develop and implement agentic workflows to enhance productivity.
• Ensure quality and security through verification loops in the development process.

Education

• Relevant degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred but not mandatory.
