About the role

Job summary

An engineering intern position is available within the Global Supply Chain, focusing on improving delivery and inventory processes in a leading Lean company in the life sciences sector. The internship will last for 20 weeks starting in August/September 2026.

Qualifications

  • General understanding of Supply Chain Management principles.
  • Familiarity with forecasting techniques and Lean methodologies.
  • Strong desire to take on challenges and responsibilities.
  • Proactive and thorough approach to tasks.
  • Proficient in Excel, including knowledge of VBA and Power Query, with experience in data analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Report on 'On Time Delivery' metrics and inventory levels.
  • Assist in improvement projects aimed at enhancing delivery performance.
  • Forecast requirements for consumables and spare parts.
  • Collaborate on production planning efforts with the production team.
  • Engage in cross-organizational projects, often through Kaizen events, and take ownership to ensure project completion.
  • Optimize and develop new tools using Excel and Power BI.
  • Adhere to and refine standard work practices in daily operations.

Skills

  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across various teams and departments.
  • Initiative in problem-solving and process improvement.

Education

  • Relevant academic background in engineering, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.

Tools

  • Excel (including VBA and Power Query), Power BI.
