About the role

Job summary

As an Early Engagement Engineer, you will be instrumental in defining project success during the early stages of development. Collaborating closely with customers, sales, and engineering teams, you will help create technically sound and competitive solutions from concept through the Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) and tendering phases.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field (e.g., Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Systems Engineering).
  • 3 to 7 years of experience in a project-based engineering setting.
  • Strong understanding of engineering standards, materials, and safety principles.
  • Interest in early project phases, including concept development, FEED, and tendering.
  • Ability to work with incomplete information and make structured technical judgments.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to engage with non-engineering stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Define project scope, including cost, time, and resource estimates.
  • Conduct technical feasibility studies and early assessments.
  • Review customer technical requirements, identify gaps and risks, and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Align technical solutions with sales and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cost specialists for accurate project baselines.
  • Support customers during early project phases and selected after-sales activities.

Skills

  • Autonomy and ownership of open-ended challenges.
  • Ability to make qualified assumptions and recommendations under undefined scopes.
  • Initiative to propose solutions proactively.
  • Balance technical details with commercial awareness.
  • Comfortable working to deadlines in a dynamic project environment.

Education

  • Degree in a relevant engineering discipline.

Tools

  • Familiarity with engineering design tools and project management software may be beneficial.
