Job summary

The Early Engagement Engineer will be pivotal in the early stages of project development, working closely with customers, sales teams, and engineering disciplines to create technically sound and competitive solutions. This role focuses on the tendering and Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) phases, ensuring alignment between customer needs and engineering feasibility.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field (e.g., Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Systems Engineering).
  • 3 to 7 years of experience in a project-based engineering environment.
  • Strong understanding of engineering standards, materials, and safety principles.
  • Interest in early project phases, including concept development and FEED.
  • Ability to work with incomplete information and make structured technical judgments.
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging with non-engineering stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Define project scope, including cost, time, and resource estimates.
  • Conduct technical feasibility studies and early assessments.
  • Review customer technical requirements, identifying gaps and proposing mitigation strategies.
  • Align technical solutions with sales and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cost specialists for accurate project cost baselines.
  • Support customers during early project phases and selected after-sales activities.

Skills

  • Autonomy and ownership of open-ended challenges.
  • Ability to make qualified assumptions and recommendations.
  • Initiative in proposing solutions and approaches.
  • Balance between technical details and commercial awareness.
  • Comfort in meeting deadlines within a dynamic project environment.
