Job summary

This role involves utilizing advanced digital prototyping and Design-for-X (DfX) simulations to validate wind turbine designs, ensuring they are manufacturable, assemble-able, transportable, installable, and serviceable. The position acts as a bridge between product development and the global value chain, focusing on optimizing product architecture and supporting operational excellence throughout the turbine lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Production, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
  • 8+ years of relevant engineering experience, preferably in wind energy or complex industrial products
  • Strong understanding of wind turbine systems and product lifecycle from concept to deployment
  • Hands-on experience with DfX, digital prototyping, and manufacturing simulations
  • Proven ability to collaborate with R&D, Manufacturing, Installation, and Service teams in global environments
  • Familiarity with digital engineering and simulation tools for manufacturing validation
  • Willingness to travel for field exposure to factories and installation sites

Responsibilities

  • Conduct DfX simulations and digital prototyping to validate designs
  • Utilize virtual build and process simulation tools to identify risks and support design decisions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure practical and safe designs
  • Analyze 3D CAD data and process flows for assembly and ergonomics
  • Communicate simulation insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Act as a subject-matter expert in digital prototyping and DfX methodologies
  • Contribute to the improvement of DfX methods and tools in a collaborative environment

  • Expertise in mechanical engineering principles and DfX methodologies
  • Proficiency in simulation-driven engineering and digital verification techniques
  • Strong cross-functional communication and technical guidance abilities
  • Capability in technical feasibility assessments and root cause analysis
  • Excellent communication skills for translating technical concepts into actionable insights

Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant engineering field

Tools

  • Experience with digital prototyping and simulation tools relevant to manufacturing and process validation
