Data Center Technician II

Job summary

The role involves managing and maintaining data center infrastructure, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of hardware and server software. The technician will work on physical equipment and ensure operational integrity in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in diagnosing and troubleshooting operating systems, computer/server hardware, or networking protocols.
• Experience with component-level repairs on IT equipment.
• Ability to lift/move 50lb (23kg) of equipment and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Willingness to work non-standard hours, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and operate new data center infrastructure across various projects.
• Report and troubleshoot straightforward issues with equipment or infrastructure.
• Maintain data security and integrity, ensuring compliance with security standards.
• Disassemble and replace parts on equipment that has reached end-of-life.
• Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on servers and infrastructure.

Skills

• Ability to collaborate effectively with teams.
• Adaptability to changes in a fast-paced work environment.

Education

• Certification in IT Support Professional Certificate program is preferred.

Tools

• Familiarity with Linux operating systems and networking components is advantageous.
