Job summary

The Contracts Associate role is situated within the Strategic Sourcing Team of the Supply Chain Management Unit, focusing on providing essential support for sourcing, contracting, and procurement services related to health commodities. This position involves collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure efficient supply chain operations.

Qualifications

  • Experience in strategic sourcing, contracting, and procurement processes.
  • Familiarity with health commodities and supply chain management principles.
  • Strong analytical skills for supplier compliance and procurement order reviews.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Category Analyst in daily sourcing and procurement activities.
  • Research suppliers and prepare Blanket Purchase Agreements (BPAs) for health commodities.
  • Develop a comprehensive product catalogue ensuring quality and availability of generic products.
  • Review supplier compliance with BPAs and contractual terms.
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing and retention within the SCMU.
  • Approve procurement orders within authorized limits and prepare submissions for higher amounts.
  • Implement vendor sanction decisions and support governance and compliance activities.
  • Provide input for forecasting and quantification exercises.

Skills

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to train and support supply chain professionals.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and resource mobilization proposals.

Education

  • Relevant degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.

Tools

  • Familiarity with procurement software and supply chain management tools.
