Compliance Manager (Finance, Copenhagen)

Job summary

The Compliance Manager will serve as the appointed Compliance Officer and act as an independent second line of defense in accordance with the Danish FAIF and EU AIFMD regulatory framework. This role involves overseeing the compliance framework, ensuring adherence to regulations, internal policies, and international standards, while reporting to the COO and having direct access to the Board of Directors.

Responsibilities

• Conduct annual, risk-based compliance assessments and define the Compliance Plan for Board approval.
• Perform ongoing compliance monitoring and reviews in line with AIFMD requirements.
• Assess regulatory developments and ensure policies and procedures are aligned with applicable regulations.
• Prepare compliance reports for Management and the Board, ensuring adequate regulatory reporting.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and third-party providers on compliance matters.
• Support compliance areas such as AML/KYC and data protection.
• Manage conflicts of interest and maintain registers.
• Promote a strong compliance culture through training and stakeholder interaction.

The position is based in Copenhagen, Hellerup, with an expectation of onsite work and a normal work-life balance.

• 5-8 years of experience in compliance within the financial sector.
• Strong understanding of Danish FAIF and EU AIFMD frameworks.
• Hands-on experience in an AIFM-regulated environment is preferred.
• Experience in establishing and maintaining compliance frameworks and policies.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks.
• Excellent communication skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
• Experience in an international environment.
• Professional proficiency in English; Danish is a plus.
