About the role

Job summary

A communication specialist is sought to support a communication team for a one-year period starting August 1, 2026. The role involves ensuring effective communication strategies that align with the organization's purpose and core messages, while enhancing the institute's visibility in both national and international media.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in journalism, communications, or media studies.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar communication role.
  • High proficiency in PowerPoint and Word; experience with Canva and LinkedIn is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent coordination skills with experience in stakeholder management.
  • Professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

  • Align communication efforts with the organization’s purpose and strategy.
  • Advise on internal communication, including team meeting materials and executive messages.
  • Facilitate information flow within the organization through internal platforms.
  • Write press releases, prepare media kits, and pitch stories to various media outlets.
  • Draft speeches for executives and provide media training for spokespeople.

Skills

  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to create structure and anticipate communication needs.

Education

  • Relevant degree in communications or related field.

Tools

  • Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint and Word; familiarity with Canva and LinkedIn is advantageous.
