The Commercial Contract Manager is responsible for leading the acquisition, negotiation, and compliance management of commercial contracts and funding agreements. This role is crucial in ensuring effective competition and favorable terms while managing contract performance to support program impact.

Qualifications

  • At least 7 years of experience in commercial contract management or procurement within international development or government contracting sectors.
  • Proven track record in negotiating contracts with major institutional donors and prime contractors.
  • Strong understanding of cost principles and procurement regulations relevant to the sector.
  • Experience with various contract types including fixed-price and cost-reimbursable agreements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead negotiations on commercial contracts, ensuring terms protect organizational interests and facilitate program delivery.
  • Manage the entire lifecycle of contracts, ensuring compliance with donor terms and timely deliverables.
  • Identify emerging opportunities in the commercial contracting landscape and advise on bid decisions.
  • Develop cost proposals and pricing strategies that comply with regulations and maximize cost recovery.
  • Build and maintain relationships with contracting officers and procurement specialists in donor agencies.
  • Implement contract management systems to monitor performance and compliance across contracts.
