About the role

Job summary

This role focuses on shaping the look and feel of products through color, material, and finish (CMF) to create meaningful connections with users. As part of a Product Development team, the designer will work on multiple projects, translating user insights and brand principles into cohesive CMF directions while ensuring manufacturability and quality.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in CMF, Industrial Design, or related fields
  • Degree in Industrial Design, CMF, Textile Design, or similar
  • Portfolio showcasing strong CMF thinking and product applications
  • Strong understanding of color theory, materials, and finishes
  • Experience with manufacturing processes such as injection molding and coatings
  • Ability to create CMF specifications for production
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and visualization tools like KeyShot and Vizcom
  • Fluency in English

Responsibilities

  • Develop CMF concepts from early exploration to production
  • Translate insights and briefs into actionable CMF directions
  • Define colors, materials, and finishes aligned with brand and product intent
  • Create CMF boards, renderings, and physical samples
  • Specify CMF for production, including color targets and durability requirements
  • Collaborate with engineering and suppliers to ensure feasibility and quality
  • Communicate CMF intent across teams and stakeholders
  • Support material selection considering cost, performance, and sustainability
  • Research materials and finishes to identify new opportunities
  • Contribute to innovation in sustainable and high-quality CMF solutions

  • Confident communicator able to explain design rationale

  • Passionate about user-centered design and meaningful product experiences

Education

  • Degree in Industrial Design, CMF, Textile Design, or similar
