Chatbot Developer (Remote)

Job summary

This freelance role involves designing, building, and refining conversational bots for various messaging platforms, including WhatsApp, Telegram, and Discord. The position requires collaboration with Tendem Agents to ensure bots are reliable and user-friendly in a hybrid AI and human environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in backend, integration, automation, or bot development.
• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related fields is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop bots for messaging platforms such as WhatsApp, Telegram, and Discord.
• Design and implement conversational flows and dialogue states.
• Integrate bots with large language models for natural language processing.
• Connect bots to backend services, databases, and third-party APIs.
• Manage webhooks and platform-specific message formats.
• Evaluate and refactor AI-generated bot code for reliability.
• Implement logging and monitoring for production bots.

Skills

• At least 1 year of experience building bots for major messaging platforms.
• Proficiency in Python or Node.js for backend logic.
• Experience with REST APIs, webhooks, and async request handling.
• Familiarity with relational or NoSQL databases.
• Understanding of LLM APIs and prompt design is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Education

• Portfolio of previous bot projects is required.
• English proficiency at upper-intermediate level (B2) or above is required.

Tools

• Familiarity with Docker, serverless, VPS, or PaaS for hosting and deployment.
