Backend Engineer (On-site)

Job summary

The role involves developing and enhancing APIs and data services for an audit logging platform focused on operational technology assets. The engineer will design and build APIs that expose audit logs and develop backend services and data pipelines to ensure reliable data flow from OT interactions to compliance and security systems.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in C#/.NET backend development.
• Proficiency in Python for data processing and pipeline development.
• Strong background in designing and building APIs, including REST and streaming interfaces.
• Experience with data-centric backend services and ETL or data pipelines in production.
• Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms, preferably Azure Databricks.
• Understanding of relational and distributed data stores.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
• Commitment to code quality, testing, and maintainability.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement C# APIs for audit log access, including real-time streaming.
• Develop backend services for ingesting and exposing audit events and activity records.
• Create integration points with upstream OT systems and downstream compliance tools.
• Define data retention and compliance characteristics for the audit data layer.
• Collaborate on architectural decisions related to APIs and data integration.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines and implement automated testing and monitoring.

Skills

• Strong coding skills in C# and Python.
• Experience with event-driven architectures and data streaming technologies.
• Knowledge of queuing technologies and cloud services.
• Familiarity with observability tools and infrastructure as code practices.

Education

• Relevant degree or equivalent experience in software engineering or a related field.

Tools

• Azure Databricks, CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions), event-driven infrastructure, and various cloud services.
