Backend Engineer (Fintech, Copenhagen)

Job summary

The role involves developing and maintaining backend services that support user membership and conversion in a cross-functional team. The engineer will work on production systems with a direct impact on revenue and user experience, focusing on code quality and reliability.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with Java, JUnit, and Spring Boot.
• Familiarity with RabbitMQ or similar message brokers.
• Knowledge of MySQL and relational data modeling.
• Experience with established codebases handling production traffic.
• Enthusiasm for AI and its application in engineering tasks.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product, design, data, and frontend teams to deliver features end-to-end.
• Share ownership of backend services and ensure their reliability and performance.
• Build and maintain integrations with external services, including government data sources.
• Contribute to the development of stock trading tax support features.
• Participate in the migration of systems to Azure and enhance cloud architecture.
• Ensure observability of critical business flows and manage technical debt proactively.

Skills

• Strong production experience in backend engineering.
• Ability to assess and improve existing codebases.

Education

• Relevant technical education or equivalent experience in software engineering.

Tools

• Experience with Kubernetes, Argo, GitHub Actions, and Grafana is a plus.
• Familiarity with Azure or other cloud environments is advantageous.
