Job summary

This position involves managing cost control and financial governance across a multi-country lease portfolio in Europe, focusing on commercial performance and cost optimization. The role supports strategic decision-making through effective budget management and collaboration with various stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • 7–8+ years of experience in cost management or quantity surveying, preferably in consultancy settings.
  • Experience managing costs across multiple projects or portfolios, ideally in a lease or real estate context.
  • Strong background in commercial management, cost planning, and financial control, including change management.
  • Chartered status is preferred.
  • Degree or equivalent experience in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cost management for a European lease portfolio, ensuring budget control and forecasting.
  • Oversee operational and capital expenditure within leased environments.
  • Participate in tender processes, including analysis and commercial evaluation.
  • Drive change management processes and assess cost impacts on lease agreements.
  • Provide cost planning and reporting to support strategic decisions.
  • Analyze supplier proposals for value and compliance.
  • Support final account preparations, including lease exit costs and claims.
  • Conduct regular cost reporting and variance analysis to communicate risks and opportunities.
  • Assist in dispute resolution and commercial negotiations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to maintain governance and reporting standards.
  • Mentor junior team members to enhance team performance.

Skills

  • Proficient in cost reporting and financial analysis.
  • Strong communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
  • Excellent commercial acumen and attention to detail.
  • Ability to influence senior-level decision-making.

Education

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline is preferred.

Tools

  • Familiarity with cost management software and financial analysis tools is advantageous.
