Test Infrastructure Engineer

Job summary

The role involves taking ownership of the mobile test automation suite, migrating it in-house, and improving the testing framework for both web and mobile applications. The focus will be on enhancing the efficiency and reliability of the testing process, particularly for React Native applications.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of engineering experience, particularly in test automation, developer tooling, or platform work.
• Experience managing a mobile test suite in CI, with insights on emulator versus device testing.
• Familiarity with frameworks such as Detox, Maestro, or Appium for React Native, and Playwright or similar for web.
• Background in startup or scale-up environments, with a pragmatic approach to decision-making.
• Fluent in English, both spoken and written.

Responsibilities

• Audit the existing QA Wolf Appium suite and determine what to retain or replace.
• Decide on the future testing framework and manage the migration process without losing coverage.
• Build a comprehensive test platform that includes device and emulator strategies, fixtures, factories, and reporting mechanisms.

Skills

• Strong understanding of mobile test automation and CI/CD processes.
• Proficient in React, React Native, TypeScript, and Node.js.
• Experience with device farms and mobile CI at scale.

Education

• Relevant degree or equivalent experience in software engineering or a related field.

Tools

• Familiarity with testing tools and frameworks such as Detox, Maestro, Appium, Playwright, and CI/CD platforms.
