Technology Compliance Officer (Remote, Northern Europe)

Job summary

The role of Technology Compliance Officer involves ensuring compliance with complex regulations across Northern Europe, acting as a liaison between technology, legal, and regulatory teams to create a safe and compliant tech environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical compliance with a strong grasp of regulations like NIS2 and GDPR.
• Proven track record in working with regulators and translating regulatory requirements into actionable guidance.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and skilled in communication across various levels.
• Ability to stay informed on evolving compliance landscapes and present insights to executives.
• Service-minded and proactive, with experience in cross-cultural collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary advisor on governance, risk, and compliance for technology teams and stakeholders.
• Monitor and interpret relevant regulations, guiding the organization to maintain compliance.
• Lead compliance activities, including forums, audits, and documentation.
• Coach product teams on embedding compliance and risk management into product design.
• Maintain the regional risk register and ensure timely follow-up on mitigation actions.
• Provide management with clear reports on compliance status and regulatory changes.

Skills

• Knowledge of healthcare and patient-data legislation.
• Understanding of retail operations and related regulations.
• Experience in Agile product environments.
• Familiarity with Atlassian tools.
• Knowledge of ITIL, ISO 27001/2, and NIS CAF.
• NIS2 Lead Auditor or Implementer certification is a plus.

Education

• Relevant degree or equivalent experience in a related field is preferred.

• Proficiency in compliance management tools and Atlassian software.
