Tech Lead, Embedded Systems (Remote, Europe)

Job summary

This role involves leading a team responsible for the entire platform layer, including the operating system and firmware, and ensuring the successful release of new hardware products. The position is split between hands-on problem-solving and mentoring engineers.

Qualifications

• Experience in setting technical direction and leading teams.
• Proficiency in embedded Linux, including kernel, BSP, and userspace development.
• Familiarity with wireless stacks, streaming protocols, and drivers.
• Experience with software that ships to hardware in the field, including staged rollouts and over-the-air updates.
• Background in bringing new hardware to market.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the development and deployment of AirPlay and Miracast protocols, ensuring they transition from beta to default status.
• Streamline firmware release processes to create a predictable and automated cadence.
• Establish a repeatable process for bringing new hardware from initial arrival to testing.
• Conduct regular 1:1s and support the growth of team members.
