Job summary

Seeking two Student Assistants focused on software development, one for frontend and one for backend, to contribute to a new data platform aimed at decarbonizing shipping and enhancing energy and infrastructure sectors. The roles will involve working with modern digital tools and collaborating closely within a team over a 1½-year period.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a university or educational institution related to STEM or programming.
• Demonstrable skills in programming, ideally with over 2 years of experience through education, work, or personal projects.
• A genuine passion for data, code, and digital tools.
• Strong logical reasoning skills and curiosity about system functionality.

Responsibilities

Frontend Developer:

Backend Developer:

• Develop and maintain frontend functionality using TypeScript and modern JavaScript frameworks.
• Create responsive user interfaces based on design requirements.
• Connect frontend components to backend APIs.
• Collaborate with backend developers and contribute to image annotation for ML models.
• Support backend development for Node.js applications, including API development.
• Develop and connect web-based APIs for internal and external users.
• Take ownership of data projects for the new platform.
• Collaborate with frontend developers and contribute to image annotation for ML models.

Skills

Frontend Developer:

Backend Developer:

• Experience with TypeScript/JavaScript and modern frontend frameworks.
• Understanding of HTML, CSS, and web application structure.
• Nice to have: exposure to Node.js, Python, SQL, and REST APIs.
• Experience with backend languages such as Python, Node.js, and SQL.
• Understanding of API design and maintenance.
• Nice to have: experience with Databricks, Spark/PySpark, and cloud computing frameworks.

Tools

• Modern web development tools and frameworks, Figma for design, and digital tools for data handling.
