Job summary

Seeking two student assistants to support the Commercial Data & Software Engineering team, focusing on either frontend or backend development for a new data platform aimed at decarbonizing shipping and enhancing energy infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a university or educational institution related to STEM or programming.
• Demonstrable skills in programming, preferably with over 2 years of experience through education, work, or personal projects.
• Strong logical reasoning skills and curiosity about system functionality.

Responsibilities

Frontend Developer:

Backend Developer:

• Develop and maintain frontend functionality using TypeScript and modern JavaScript frameworks.
• Create responsive interfaces based on design requirements.
• Connect frontend components to backend APIs.
• Collaborate with backend developers and contribute to image annotation for ML models.
• Support backend development for Node.js web applications, including API development.
• Manage data and digital tooling projects for the new data platform.
• Collaborate with frontend developers and contribute to image annotation for ML models.

Skills

Frontend Developer:

Backend Developer:

• Experience with TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and modern frontend frameworks.
• Understanding of usability and design impact on user experience.
• Experience with Python, Node.js, SQL, and API design and maintenance.
• Familiarity with Databricks, Spark/PySpark, and cloud computing frameworks is a plus.

Tools

• Figma or other design applications for frontend development.
• Node.js for backend development.
