Staff Applied AI Engineer (Remote, Technology)

Job summary

This role involves shaping the development of AI-powered product features by collaborating with software engineers, data engineers, and data scientists. The focus is on leveraging extensive customer data to create valuable product solutions.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in deploying GenAI features at scale in customer-facing products.
• Ability to translate complex business challenges into scalable AI solutions autonomously.
• Experience in setting up evaluations, monitoring, and production observability for LLM-based systems.
• Solid understanding of the modern AI stack, including Vector DBs and orchestration frameworks.
• Proficiency in building APIs, services, and data retrieval pipelines.
• Deep knowledge of Python, SQL, and cloud services like BigQuery.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product engineers and data specialists to develop and launch AI-powered products.
• Engage with Product, Design, Engineering, and business stakeholders to prioritize product features.
• Oversee the evaluation and operationalization of AI features, ensuring performance tracking and safe prompt management.
• Partner with the GenAI Core platform team to define and prioritize tooling for the organization.

Skills

• Strong software engineering skills with a focus on user-centric product development.
• Understanding of LLMOps, data retrieval, and model evaluation in production environments.
• Ability to communicate complex AI concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Education

• Relevant degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

Tools

• Familiarity with GCP, BigQuery, Airflow, Kubernetes, AWS, Kotlin, JavaScript, and TypeScript is advantageous.
