Software Tools Developer (Embedded Systems, Remote)

Job summary

This position focuses on enhancing the developer experience for software engineers working with embedded software for audio devices. The role involves optimizing development workflows and providing robust tooling to streamline processes.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, IT Engineering, or Software Engineering.
• Practical experience in profiling and optimizing workflows.

Responsibilities

• Improve build flows and development environments, including editors, debuggers, and command line tools.
• Enhance build, test, documentation, and debugging tooling.
• Drive a sustainable software development culture within the team.

Skills

• Proficiency in Python, C, and/or Java programming.
• Familiarity with build systems (make, SCons, gcc toolchains).
• Experience with Git and Gerrit.
• Knowledge of Docker and Nix package manager.
• Understanding of Unix/POSIX programming and scripting.
• Familiarity with ARM microprocessor architectures and Linux subsystems.
• Experience with Zephyr and VSCode plugins is a plus.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred.

Tools

• Development tools including Docker, Git, and various programming languages relevant to embedded systems.
