Senior Security Engineer (Remote)

Job summary

As a Senior Security Engineer on the Security Incident Response Team (SIRT), you will be essential in protecting the organization against security threats. You will manage high-impact incidents, enhance security operations through automation, and collaborate across teams to improve the overall security posture.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in security incident response and investigations in cloud environments.
• Proficient in using or administering Git in a security or engineering context.
• Hands-on experience with SIEM, EDR, and detection engineering.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS and GCP.
• Knowledge of threat intelligence and adversary tactics, including MITRE ATT&CK.
• Experience with automation tools and scripting (e.g., Python, SOAR platforms).
• Strong analytical skills and ability to manage high-severity incidents.
• Excellent written communication skills for documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end incident response for high-severity security events in a 24/7 on-call model.
• Prepare executive communications to keep stakeholders informed during incidents.
• Investigate complex security incidents using Digital Forensics and Incident Response methodologies.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to design detection capabilities and alerting strategies.
• Enhance automation and AI-assisted workflows for improved response times.
• Conduct root cause analysis and lead post-incident reviews for continuous improvement.
• Develop and maintain operational documentation and runbooks.
• Mentor team members to elevate incident response maturity.
