Senior Platform Engineer

Job summary

The Global Open Banking team is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to enhance and maintain a multi-cloud platform utilizing AWS and Azure. This role emphasizes the development of secure, reliable, and scalable cloud infrastructure while collaborating with application teams across various environments.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of hands-on experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, or platform engineering.
• Proficient in AWS, with exposure to Azure services (VMs, networking, storage, AKS).
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Basic to intermediate experience managing Kubernetes clusters (EKS, AKS, or similar).
• Proficiency in at least one scripting language (Python or Bash preferred).
• Strong knowledge of Linux systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Build and support cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure, adhering to secure-by-design and zero-trust principles.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance infrastructure using Terraform and automation scripts.
• Assist in implementing new systems and frameworks to boost platform reliability and productivity.
• Manage and support build, maintenance, and upgrades across development, staging, and production environments.
• Utilize logging, monitoring, and alerting tools to enhance system visibility and reliability.
• Operate and support Kubernetes clusters, including scaling and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with development teams to deploy and support cloud-native applications.
• Ensure infrastructure complies with enterprise security standards and participate in on-call support.

Skills

• Understanding of secure cloud design principles and exposure to audit/compliance environments (PCI, SOC2, etc.).
• Familiarity with networking fundamentals, including VPC/VNET design and routing.

Education

• Relevant technical degree or equivalent experience in a related field.

• Cloud: AWS (EKS, EC2, IAM, VPC), Azure (AKS, VNET, Storage, IAM).
• Infrastructure: Terraform.
• Containers: Kubernetes.
• CI/CD: GitLab or equivalent.
• OS: Linux.
