Senior Platform Engineer

Job summary

The role involves developing and maintaining the platform systems that support a popular mobile game, ensuring a reliable experience for millions of players. The engineer will work on backend services, cloud infrastructure, and platform architecture, addressing both immediate operational needs and long-term scalability challenges.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in building, operating, and scaling production backend services for large-scale applications.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems, API design, and data modeling.
• Extensive experience with cloud-native infrastructure and technologies such as Kubernetes, Terraform, Docker, and Google Cloud Platform.
• Hands-on experience in monitoring, observability, and incident response.
• Proficiency in backend engineering, with a preference for Go (Golang) and familiarity with other languages like C#, Python, Rust, or Node.js.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Technical Director to enhance the platform architecture.
• Design and operate scalable backend services for various game functionalities.
• Modernize legacy systems for improved flexibility and robustness.
• Deliver comprehensive solutions including APIs, data models, and cloud infrastructure.
• Manage cloud infrastructure and ensure platform reliability.
• Enhance observability through effective monitoring and logging practices.
• Participate in on-call rotations to maintain service reliability.
• Work with cross-functional teams to align platform solutions with business needs.

Skills

• Strong operational mindset and experience in production support.
• Ability to communicate and document technical solutions effectively.

Education

• Relevant experience in software engineering or a related field.

Tools

• Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins is a plus.
• Experience with frontend technologies such as React/Typescript is advantageous.
