Senior Manager, Sustainability (On-site, Billund)

Job summary

This role focuses on transforming sustainability ambitions into actionable design choices within manufacturing operations. The Senior Manager will collaborate with engineering, design, and site teams to integrate sustainability into every equipment decision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in environmental science, engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience managing sustainability projects in global manufacturing or operations.
• Background in manufacturing or engineering environments with a successful project delivery record.
• Strong communication skills for preparing materials for senior leaders and technical partners.
• Knowledge of Science Based Targets and emerging energy technologies in production.
• Experience in change management and stakeholder influence within a matrix organization.

Responsibilities

• Influence technology and machine design to incorporate sustainability from the start.
• Establish sustainability performance criteria and develop roadmaps for efficient processes.
• Create feedback loops between manufacturing data and design teams to enhance specifications.
• Define governance and decision rights for sustainable design processes.
• Collaborate with equipment suppliers to integrate new sustainability technologies.
• Facilitate collaboration between Sustainability and R&D & Technology teams.

Skills

• Advanced English proficiency for international collaboration.
• Experience in moulding and packaging machine research and design is a plus.

Education

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in environmental science, engineering, or equivalent experience.

Tools

• Familiarity with sustainability technologies and manufacturing data analysis tools.
