Senior Infrastructure and Data Engineer (Remote)

Job summary

This role involves taking full ownership of the infrastructure and data platform for a systematic fund, focusing on cloud architecture, data pipelines, and production reliability. The position is fully remote, targeting candidates in CET-compatible European time zones.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in end-to-end production ownership of infrastructure and data platforms where reliability is critical.
• Expertise in Kubernetes, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and Terraform, with a strong emphasis on infrastructure as code.
• Experience in building automated data pipelines from diverse external sources, with knowledge of vendor quirks and adjustments.
• Proficiency in Python and Java; familiarity with JavaScript is a plus.
• Strong relational database skills, including schema design and performance optimization, along with DevOps practices such as CI/CD and observability.
• Familiarity with AI coding agents and a genuine interest in market dynamics.

Responsibilities

• Manage and enhance the Kubernetes platform on Google Cloud using Terraform.
• Develop and maintain data ingestion pipelines, ensuring data quality and compliance.
• Oversee deployment, monitoring, and incident response for live trading systems.
• Manage relational and analytical databases, focusing on high-availability architecture.
• Handle integrations with external data providers and maintain data integrity.
• Automate operational processes to reduce manual intervention over time.

Skills

• Strong background in cloud infrastructure, data engineering, and DevOps practices.
• Familiarity with trading or market data systems is advantageous.

Education

• Relevant degree or equivalent experience in a related field is preferred.
