Senior DevOps Engineer (Data, Copenhagen)

Job summary

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for building and maintaining a governed self-service data platform, focusing on infrastructure and operational capabilities for data workloads. You will work closely with data platform and analytics engineers to ensure a reliable and efficient data environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in running Kubernetes in production, especially for stateful or distributed systems.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD tooling, and GitOps, with a track record of creating automated infrastructure workflows.
• Strong understanding of observability and production reliability, with the ability to make systems diagnosable.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure and developing internal tooling or automation for engineering teams.
• Background in operating stateful or data-intensive distributed systems, such as streaming engines or large-scale data processing frameworks.
• A genuine interest in the data infrastructure domain and solving operational challenges at scale.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain data-specific Kubernetes capabilities for workloads including Flink, Kafka, and distributed databases.
• Create standardized CI/CD pipelines, GitOps workflows, and deployment automation to enhance engineers' confidence in building and shipping data infrastructure.
• Ensure observability and reliability of the data platform through metrics, tracing, dashboards, SLOs, and automated health checks.
• Automate manual operations through infrastructure automation and data-specific Infrastructure as Code.
• Collaborate with data platform engineers to extend shared foundations for data-intensive workloads.

Skills

• Expertise in Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, and observability tools.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to operational challenges.

Education

• Relevant degree or equivalent experience in a related field is preferred.
