Job summary

A Senior Designer is sought to lead creative projects for the Modern Classics & Diamonds category, collaborating closely with the Design Director to develop innovative jewellery designs that reflect the brand's identity. This role involves overseeing the design process from concept to prototype, ensuring timely project execution and alignment with strategic goals.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in jewellery design within a fashion, luxury, or jewellery brand.
  • Strong creative portfolio showcasing concept development, mood boards, sketches, and finished products.
  • Proven track record of leading design projects from concept to prototype.
  • Advanced knowledge of jewellery design and manufacturing processes.
  • Strong hand-sketching and visual communication skills.
  • Experience with CAD development and cross-functional product development teams.
  • Ability to translate creative direction into commercially successful products.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience mentoring junior designers is a plus.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.

Responsibilities

Research & Innovation

  • Partner with the team to create and develop new collections in the Modern Classics & Diamonds category.
  • Translate creative briefs into innovative product concepts and sketches.
  • Lead design projects from initial research through to prototype stages.
  • Propose original product ideas that align with the category's strategic direction.
  • Ensure projects meet timelines and requirements, providing feedback on CADs and prototypes.
  • Collaborate with Creative Sourcing and Creative Merchandising to explore materials and align collection structures.
  • Maintain accurate design documentation throughout the process.
  • Support and mentor Junior Designers in their creative and technical work.
  • Conduct research to identify trends and materials, translating findings into creative concepts.
  • Update design presentations with relevant concepts and sketches throughout project development.

Education

  • A degree in jewellery design or a related field is typically expected, though specific educational requirements are not detailed.

Tools

  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign is required.
