Senior Data Tech Lead (Remote)

Job summary

This is a senior hands-on data engineering position focused on the delivery, maintenance, and enhancement of a data platform and data warehouse services. The role involves both development and technical oversight of distributed teams, ensuring the design and maintenance of reliable data pipelines, ETL processes, data models, and APIs, while adhering to development standards and operational expectations.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a senior data engineering role or similar technical data position.
• Experience in developing and maintaining data warehouse solutions and ETL processes.
• Strong understanding of data modeling, transformation, and quality principles.
• Familiarity with cloud-based data engineering services.
• Experience in Agile delivery environments and working with distributed development teams.
• Effective communication skills for collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes.
• Provide technical guidance and oversight to offshore development teams.
• Ensure work is well understood, designed, implemented, tested, and supported.
• Challenge designs and implementations regarding maintainability, performance, and security.

Skills

• Strong SQL and Python skills for data engineering and automation.
• Experience with AWS services such as S3, Glue, Redshift, Lambda, and Fargate.
• Familiarity with GitHub or similar version control tools.
• Understanding of CI/CD and operational support practices.

Education

• Relevant degree or equivalent experience in a technical field.

• Jira and Confluence for project management.
• AWS services for data engineering and cloud solutions.
