Senior Data Tech Lead

Job summary

This role is a senior, hands-on position focused on the delivery, maintenance, and enhancement of a client's data platform and data warehouse services. It involves both development and technical oversight of distributed delivery teams, ensuring the design and maintenance of reliable data pipelines, ETL processes, and APIs, while adhering to development standards and operational expectations.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a senior data engineering role or similar technical data position.
• Experience in developing and maintaining data warehouse solutions and ETL processes.
• Strong understanding of data modeling, transformation, and quality principles.
• Familiarity with cloud-based data engineering services.
• Knowledge of software engineering best practices, including maintainability and version control.
• Experience in Agile environments and with offshore or third-party development teams.
• Effective communication skills for engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes.
• Provide technical guidance and oversight to offshore development teams.
• Ensure delivery aligns with architecture principles and operational expectations.
• Challenge proposed designs and implementations to mitigate risks related to maintainability and performance.

Skills

• Strong SQL and Python skills for data engineering and automation.
• Experience with AWS services including S3, Glue, Lambda, and Redshift.
• Familiarity with version control tools like GitHub.
• Understanding of CI/CD processes and operational support.

Education

• Relevant degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
