Job summary

The role involves working as a Senior Compute Platform Engineer within the Data Platform team, focusing on building and maintaining the data infrastructure that supports the company's platform. The team is dedicated to providing reliable and scalable data processing solutions, allowing engineers and analysts to concentrate on business challenges.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of software engineering experience
• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Physics, Math, or a related field
• 1+ years of experience with Scala or other JVM-based languages
• Familiarity with Spark and/or large-scale data-processing frameworks
• Basic knowledge of Amazon Web Services (EC2, S3, Athena, etc.)
• Interest in back-end technologies and architecture

Responsibilities

• Implementing new features in the framework and services managed by the team
• Collaborating with data scientists to enhance their productivity and experience
• Identifying and executing computational improvements
• Contributing to open-source projects related to the tech stack, such as Spark, Iceberg, Hadoop, and Airflow
• Mentoring fellow engineers through design discussions and knowledge-sharing sessions

Skills

• Proficiency in Spark and Scala
• Experience with Kubernetes is a plus
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Education

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
