Senior Backend Engineer (Remote, Global)

Job summary

This position involves joining a team of engineers to develop tools, APIs, and integrations for various products. The role is fully remote and focuses on building secure, reliable, and scalable production systems.

Qualifications

• Strong engineering fundamentals with experience in shipping production systems.
• Practical experience in designing or adopting automation workflows.
• Ability to think in systems, define specifications, and ensure quality.
• Experience with Postgres or similar databases.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools like GitLab or GitHub.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of significant projects and participate in cross-team initiatives.
• Engage in product discussions, providing feedback and suggesting improvements.
• Maintain a solid understanding of the team’s domain from both product and engineering perspectives.
• Conduct code reviews and contribute to the shared codebase.
• Debug and resolve technical and business issues.
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in hiring processes.
• Propose and implement improvements to the platform and workflows.

Skills

• Experience with Functional Programming languages (e.g., Elixir, Erlang).
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, Next.js, and React/Vue/Angular is a plus.

Education

• Relevant degree or equivalent experience in software engineering or a related field.
