Senior Backend Engineer (E-commerce, Remote)

Job summary

The role involves leading architecture and implementation efforts for a commerce platform, focusing on backend-for-frontend services and integrations that support various business functions.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a backend microservice engineer.
• Proven track record in designing and developing scalable and reliable microservices.
• Proficient in TypeScript, especially for service-layer development.
• Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases, queues, and alerting systems.

Responsibilities

• Transform partially defined specifications into detailed solutions or deliver them directly.
• Collaborate with business and IT partners to address and solve business challenges.
• Design and implement highly scalable solutions using modern cloud architectures.
• Optimize and automate internal processes, taking ownership of problem-solving.

Skills

• Strong experience in designing and implementing RESTful microservices.
• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform services and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing practices.

Education

• Relevant degree or equivalent experience in software engineering or a related field.

Tools

• Experience with Salesforce, Zuora, Commercetools, or similar headless commerce platforms is a plus.
