Senior Automation Engineer (On-site)

Job summary

The role involves shaping the future of airport automation by taking ownership of critical projects related to baggage handling solutions at major airports globally. The Senior Automation Engineer will work within a dedicated Project Engineering team, focusing on the CrisBag system and ensuring the reliability and efficiency of systems that handle millions of bags annually.

Qualifications

• Advanced proficiency in Siemens TIA and SCL (Structured Control Language)
• Solid experience with modular software development, component-based architectures, and structured PLC programming
• Fluent in English, both spoken and written
• Strong coordination skills for planning and resource management
• Proactive and detail-oriented mindset for managing multiple priorities

Responsibilities

• Develop PLC code for specific project elements and solutions in the baggage handling system
• Define optimal solutions for projects
• Commission PLC code globally and test solutions at the test center
• Review layouts and solutions early in the project lifecycle to ensure long-term success
• Mentor team members in code development and promote best practices
• Participate in documenting solutions

• Experience in cross-disciplinary technical coordination

Education

• Relevant engineering degree or equivalent experience
