Job summary

The role involves overseeing and implementing electrical safety rules and procedures within a project management context, ensuring compliance with legislation and client requirements. The Senior Authorised Person will be responsible for auditing safety rule applications, maintaining registers of authorised personnel, and providing technical support across projects.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Relevant electrical qualification.
  • Proven capability in construction delivery.
  • Proficient in IT, including CAD and MS Office.
  • Strong time management skills to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of QHSE standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and review electrical safety rules and ensure compliance across projects.
  • Audit and close out findings related to electrical safety.
  • Oversee maintenance policies for the Technical Services Department.
  • Assess and manage the competence of Authorised Persons.
  • Provide technical support and mentorship to project teams.
  • Approve low and high voltage switching plans.
  • Act as the senior technical authority for switching operations.
  • Lead investigations into electrical incidents and ensure lessons learned are communicated.
  • Maintain subcontractor safety documentation.
  • Promote a culture of safety and quality across projects.

Skills

  • Strong understanding of project specifications, electrical systems, and national regulations.
  • Expertise in earthing systems, busbar configurations, and discrimination studies.
  • Experience with mission-critical projects and switching plans.

Education

  • Electrical qualification required.

Tools

  • Proficient in CAD and MS Office.
